Pipe Cleaner Animal Crafts

DIY Kids Crafts / Thursday, September 20th, 2018

Pipe cleaner animal crafts are quick and easy for the kids to do on a rainy day or 10 minutes (or an hour) of downtime.

You can also pick up a ton of pipe cleaners for a little bit of money, which means you can make a whole zoo full of pipe cleaner animals for pennies.

Rainbow jellyfish - make these rainbow jellyfish with styrofoam balls and pipe cleaners and hang them from the ceiling.  (Super cool!)

Pipe cleaner tiger - add a face made out of paper and googly eyes to make this pipe cleaner tiger.

Pony bead fish - these fish are super cute and really easy to make.

Pipe cleaner crocodile - this guy is super cute and easy to make with pipe cleaners and a popsicle stick.

Elephants, frogs, and birds - these pipe cleaner animal crafts are easy enough that your (slightly older) littles could make them all on their old (or the littlest littles with help).

Pipe cleaner turtles - these guys are extra adorable.

Pipe cleaner bunnies and carrots - make these pipe cleaner bunnies with some pipe cleaners, glue, googly eyes, and pom poms.

Pipe cleaner dragons - add a bit of foam to your pipe cleaner dragon to make wings.

Pipe cleaner flowers - these double as bookmarks.

Pony bead snakes - you can make some colourful and glittery snakes with pipe cleaners, beads, and googly eyes.

  1. Oh my goodness, these are adorable! I can’t wait to try making some of these with my preschooler and toddler. I’m a new SAHM and am trying to collect some fun and creative activities for winter. The turtle is my favorite! I bet my son will love the dragon. Any recommendation on where to get pipe cleaners for a good deal?

    1. Hi Holly!  SAHM is the hardest job ever!  I had my kids all summer (they’re in kindergarten, so I get a break during the school year) and I was exhausted by the end!  You definitely need a whole collection of activities to keep them busy.  I find dollar store pipe cleaners are cheap and just as good as the craft store pipe cleaners, which cost 5x the price.  🙂
